PREPARATIONS are well underway for Zimbabwe to host the 15th Conference of Parties (COP15) to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, with over 1 000 delegates from 176 countries already having confirmed their attendance at this significant global event.

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s commitment to wetland conservation and sustainable management with Government having crafted various key legal frameworks guiding wetland protection efforts.

The Parliament of Zimbabwe has launched the “Voices of Zimbabwe on Wetlands” campaign to boost community participation in the protection and sustainable management of wetlands nationwide. This is in preparation for the upcoming Ramsar Convention on Wetlands COP15, scheduled for July 23-31, 2025, in Victoria Falls.
